A big part of finding a job is time and numbers. One month and 15 apps isn't even scratching the surface. You need to get enough numbers out that the probabilities start to work in your favor. Otherwise, find out where the people you want to connect to hang out. Go to the meetings of local IT user groups and professional associations. Bring along business cards with your contact info and ask people if they can help. Be polite and professional.
