ggggrraaaaaaaaghhhhh im never gonna get a job!! by Pandilex2009-02-10 10:47:29
a month is nothing... by deadweasle 2009-02-10 11:26:54
I graduated at the top of my class and had 8 months of paid internship experience working on the code that lets Visa & Mastercard work properly for one of the largest banks in N. America. I'd also spent every semester I was in school working part-time for the IT dept. as a student worker writing apps to replace paper processes. In short I was exceptionally hireable, unless you count the fact that I graduated right at the point where the tech sector went *pop*.

Point I'm trying to make here is I know it seems like you're never gonna get a job but the fact is you've barely begun looking. Start complaining when that over a month becomes 6, or a year or in my case 2 1/2 years. I scraped by with contract coding work building up my experience for that long before I landed a full-time position.

If you aren't getting any hits at all from the jobs you're applying to, perhaps it's time to rewrite the CV. You've got the degree and the experience (albeit unpaid) you're just going to have to find a way to get through HR's screening process.
