"how can I profit from this" instead of thinking how they can make the world a better place with $this.
Lawsuits, patents, copyrights, huge profits from selling extras, and making products that are C4/planned obsolescence to sell/resell more down the road are all examples of this. Heck, you could even throw fear mongering, FUD, and PC into this as people use these tactics to get others to buy into their position.
To be clear, I'm not saying everything above should (or could) be stopped/removed, but a little common sense, critical thinking, and personal responsability would, IMHO, go a long way.
