With working bolts and a trigger mechanism that would produce an audible click, on the order of an unloaded cap gun. They also come with slings and even stacking swivels so the complete manual of arms can be completed. that said, the barrels are obviously rolled sheet metal. They could look real only to someone who had never handled, or even seen up close, a real rifle. So basically, the student is being punished for the ignorance of the school administrators.
