When it comes to certain things, I'm ok with buying the generic version. But there are some things that I have to have the name-brand for. For instance, I use a certain dandruff-fighting shampoo that comes in a particular blue bottle. When I was out of work a couple of years ago, I bought the store-brand bottle that said 'Compare to certain dandruff-fighting shampoo that comes in a particular blue bottle'. Needless to say, it didn't work worth a d4. As soon as I started working again, I went back to what I normally use and all was right within a few days.
Another similar situation is stuff like Hershey's Chocolate Syrup or Pepsi. I've found that the store-brand stuff tastes like c4, and this is under a blind taste test. For instance, if my mother made chocolate milk, I could tell which syrup she used even though I was in the next room the whole time. |
