Good thing you found it this way. I'd hate to think of the alternative....

I had seen posts before about how expensive everything is where you are, but didn't realize just how expensive - if $125k is low income, it's pretty bad. I don't think our combined income last year hit $90k, and we are by no means low-income. I just wish there were a bit more of it to go around :)

Good luck on the home repairs. Hopefully nothing else bad is discovered in the course of the repairs and the two of you can get back in soon. Are they going to be able to do something about air quality in the house? If they are finding that much stuff, and Helen is that sensitive, you might need to see what can be done to clear the air in the home after they replace the damaged stuff and get a new furnace installed.
