Oh Uficle - I request an oracular answer. by Peace_man 2009-02-03 10:01:11
I just installed Avast on my computer, after taking Norton 360 off. This computer used to be my wife's, and she insisted on buying antivirus for some reason :-\ Now the subscription has run out, and I'm not willing to pay for another, even though I haven't had any problems with Norton.

Avast immediately found something called 'mywebsearch' and called it malware. Spyware, to be precise. Just how bad is it? I suspect my wife (who still uses this computer from time to time) may be using it for something and would miss it if I removed it. Just how bad is it? Is it strictly privacy, or is there a risk of account logins being divulged?
