And she was old enough to be my grandmother two times over.

Though I have to admit that had to be one of the coolest days of my life. It wasn't just moving boxes around, everytime I took one down we went through it.
She'd seen everything, I ended up taking home heaps of stuff she wanted to throw out.
Some of the most memorable items:

A leather jacket that her husband wore when he flew in the war.
An first edition signed copy of Catcher in the Rye.
Thousands of pictures.
A glass sculpture she'd made by using lightning.
A pair of dancing shoes that her twin sister wore to ballet.
A saddle from when she lived in the bush.
Her son's first Mothers Day card.

I spent a whole day going through all the stuff. She ended up throwing out heaps of stuff, I took a whole heap of stuff, which she told me to just sell and keep the cash, including 5 or 6 photo albums. I used the money from that to buy a digital photo frame and scan and touch up all the old photos from the photo albums (including some of her first wedding) and put them all on the photo frame for her.
