from the Horse Park. (sslr) I would reserve your rooms as far ahead as you possibly can. The new hotel downtown is under some controversy as the city is running out of money. It's little more than a hole in the ground right now. When the park is open and running for a large event, I've seen people get rooms in Winchester, Richmond, Nicholasville, and other surrounding counties. These counties are approx. 30-40 mins away.
