Perhaps increased liability costs when someone slips on a milk puddle because mooches tend to be dirty piggies, too! Overhead costs in a prime location is a very non-trivial expense. I read that Starbucks recently reached the point where they pay more on employee healthcare costs than on the coffee itself, too. There is a subset of marketing that deals with discouraging your least profitable, most troublesome customers. Having worked behind enough counters in my high school and college years... the type of customer ordering a "ghetto latte" is rarely the type to come in an out quietly, leaving the store as they found it.
