You made it clear that you felt it was dishonest from the beginning (and I mostly agree with you).

It's an interesting question though, given our society. Companies are largely free to make money how they wish, which includes gouging at the cash register, and yet consumers aren't permitted to add another market force to the equation by looking for loopholes.
