- the older the better. It's immediately obvious if the roof or basement leak, and I just like how the wood and walls were made (plaster, and handmade moldings). I've heard too many nightmares about builders doing shoddy work and then going out of business immediately after the development is done so that they don't have to support any warranty work. Remember, however, that dissatisfied customers are more likely to take out a domain such as ihate$builder.com or something like that than someone who had a good experience with them.
