I already have the points breakdown for the exam.
14 points naming, 8 points NMR, 8 points reaction mechanisms, 46 points reactions, 36 points synthesis (coming up with a multiple-reaction path from point A to point B).
I need to work on naming, because I've been ignoring it. I kick butt at NMR, don't need to study for that. Reactions and synthesis involve studying the same material, so I should probably focus here. And mechanisms can go f*** themselves... they're only 8 points, and memorizing them is a pain in the butt.
In fact, since every exam has the same points breakdown... all this time I could have been studying without learning mechanisms (which is the bulk of my studying-related stress)... suddenly organic chem is looking a LOT easier...
I'll work on naming tonight, and reactions (without mechanisms! feels so liberating and naughty, like going commando...) tomorrow... this is going to be OK. |
