Yet another laptop question by oot2008-10-21 11:28:09
Here is what I think of your list... by kc5sdy2008-10-21 11:58:16
    I've got a T20 by ripley8 2008-10-21 18:20:58
There's nothing wrong about it if the speed is sufficient for your
purposes. Nonetheless I'd really like to have a T23 not only due
to the increased speed ( > 1GHz would be very welcome) but because
the memory is much cheaper to get.

As for Thinkpads in general, the ThinkWiki is highly recommended
with lots of details about the models and their quirks.

I'll get a R61 soon for my new job. To say it's a R61 is about as
specific as saying "I use Linux", though. :(

Where different model numbers used to state different configurations
of the same model with the R61 you get a range of machines that I
perceive to be rather different and not easily comparable.

I kinda hope it'll be the 14" variant which weighs 2.4kg...

If you go for a X series Thinkpad, mind that some of them have a
1.8" hard drive, so you may run into trouble if you need more disk
space and replacing the drive may not be so easy (for getting a new
one).
