If it can be taken away, or abrogated, it's not a right. It's a privilege.

You have no right to be free - You're only free because a strong body (society) protects you to a degree.

You have no right to life. It's a condition that's thrust upon us.

You can take my freedom, but you can't decide who I want to be (barring you changing me to the point that I'm no longer me, which makes the point moot). You can lock me up. You can torture me, but unless you break what makes me, me, I still decide who I am and what I am.

The most you can do is limit my ability to do things, not to be things.
