therefore I would have made the very same mistake about it had the wording been right. But that *still* doesn't change that the use of "clip" or "magazine" is not the point in the sentence by Obama.

The mistake on the modes of fire of the arms was made by me and is not a part of any debate. Please ignore my ignorance on technical terms and issues and stay with the political part of the debate: The weapon (in the way it was equipped) would have been covered by the assoult weapon ban (according to Obama, who's probably following the explanation given to him by his advisors).

Actually the whole weapon issue is not interesting for me, I just dislike that it happens again and again and again that in a big debate someone points out: "in that unrelated detail was a clear mistake in person Xs arguing, person Xs argument is faulty, person Xs positons are always invalid".

Disclaimer: I do not accuse you of these tactics I'm just tired of it in the links that are given here - it is difficult enough to understand all the details of a foreign country and culture in a foreign language. Being mislead by right- or leftwing bloggers and hardliners makes it far more so and picking the facts out of propaganda laden texts is fatiguing.
