Be religious about keeping your laptops in the padded carrying case when not in use. If for some reason both motherboards burn up or something a replacement can be had, albeit inconveniently. If the LCD goes replacing it is more expensive than a whole new laptop. Just a friendly warning from someone who has turned several laptops into boat anchors.
