If it's running on a shiny new machine that exceeds all of the vista "requirements" and the hardware vendor came through with a good set of drivers, my experience is that it's a pretty solid system. If it's running on an underpowered system or one with only unstable drivers, then it's hate, hate, hate. Unfortunately there seem to be a number of laptops, in particular, that are completely unstable out of the box due to drivers and/or bundled software. 2) I dunno.
