UFicle: Building an uber-graphics workstation by Tomo 2008-10-21 10:30:39
Minimum Requirements:

Windows XP Professional
Intel Dual-core CPU
2 or 3GB RAM
nVidia graphics card supporting OpenGL 2 and Shader Model 3 with minimum of 512MB VRAM.

It may be necessary to upgrade to SLI, so need the option to do so!

Bare minimum of pre-installed rubbish.

(Hard disk is irrelevant - it'll use a max of 500MB on top of the OS and drivers)

Does anybody know where can I get a pre-built system like that in the UK?
I used to use Systemax and Dell, but neither seem to supply that sort of thing anymore.

Failing that:
Where would you recommend I get the parts?
Which motherboard would you recommend?

And - Where do I buy Windows XP? (OEM licence is fine, but !)

- Reason being that I've been dumped in it by a salesman.
We suddenly need a seriously powerful GPU where previously an Eee PC would have done the job!
(And it's got to be on my desk next week)

Last I checked, you could still buy XP at Newegg. (n/t) by radiowave9112008-10-21 10:33:43
