UF Philosophy Corner - Ethics by MatthewDBA2008-10-21 08:21:28
Rights vs Privileges by subbywan2008-10-21 09:50:23
I'm not sure of what you're saying in one respect by MatthewDBA 2008-10-21 09:55:38
When I spoke of an "external right", I meant something that might be considered a right regardless of what society the individual was a member of (or if he was not considered part of a society). You're appearing to say that there are "rights" which are inherent to us as human beings (which is what I meant by "external rights,") yet denying that there are "true rights external to a society." That's contradictory according to my definitions. Would you mind clarifying?
