But somewhat remote. You can have a power adapter that gives the computer enough power to run but not charge. However, generally that's due to an undervoltage, so if this was the power adapter that was supposed to come with the computer it's unlikely to be the problem.

When looking to replace your power adapter check the requirements/OEM specs and then see if you can get a 3rd party one from someone like Kensington, it may be cheaper.
