As for HP is concerned, their business class laptops (69xx, 89xx, etc) are not being made very well. I have had displays and system boards replaced constantly. From what I understand, HP has changed board manufacturers and are now using one that they have used before and now they are in the same boat they were in before. I do not know what all models are being manufactured by this company but, I do know that at least the business class laptops are.
