software question: speech recognition by Nessalc 2008-10-01 17:41:52

Do any of you use speech recognition software? I'm trying to find something that I can hack, so GNU (or some form of free software) is desired; Sphinx might fit the bill, but I've studied the documentation for a couple of days now and haven't been able to make sense of it without opening it up. Honestly, I don't even know how I'm supposed to make use of what's provided.

Second subject: is there software available that can provide a three-dimensional plot of an audio clip? Frequency, amplitude, and time?
