You seem to find Jackson's comments telling in this situation. At least on this particular issue, it seems you respect his views. But today's world and the world of 1828 are quite different. Thus, would you vote for him if he were alive today and running for office, given that he exhibited the same attitudes -- but also with the same party affiliation and the same marital difficulties?
