Global warming is -probably- happening, by run.dll 2008-10-01 14:47:16
but the questions you mention still must be answered before I am willing to allow my country's politicians to cripple our economy with "solutions".

- is there a "long term" trend of global warming on a time scale consistent with anthropogenic greenhouse gas increases?

- how much of this is attributable to anthropogenic greenhouse gas increases?

- what (and where) effects are positive and what negative?
(and related to this, if the net effect is good for Canada but bad for Brazil, how do we reconcile the problems this will pose?)

- will the proposed measures have a significant effect?

and so on.

There are lots of reasons besides global warming why energy consumption should be efficient and we should be conserving and using it intelligently anyway, but I would like to see a little less "activism" and more considered thought put into the debate.
