Copyright => The right to enforce negative rights on your "creations of spirit" (bad translation from Norwegian there). Can be summed up as "What I create is not yours to do with as you wish".
Trademark => A word, mark, image, drawing, or whatever which symbolises a company or a product. Differentiated in two groups, registered and ordinary. Is better protected than copyright, but serves a different purpose: Copyright serves the purpose of protecting my ideas, while registering a trademark serves the purpose of protecting a business's image.
Patent => A process (or the end result of said process) in which an inventor can protect his invention and the process in which it is made from plagiarism. Is somewhat similar to copyright, but more formalised and more specific. |
