Copyright - gives the author of an original or trasformative work exclusive right to publish for a period of years (life+75 currently), subject to fair use exceptions

Trademark - A distinctive name or mark that identifies a particular product in the marketplace. This can be a name, logo, image, or distinctive packaging design. They are valid for as long as the owner keeps the product on the market or otherwise exists to control their use

Patent - An exclusive right for an inventor to control the use of a specific, tangible expression of an idea, in the form of an object, process, or method of manufacture
