I've had to make the decision on whether or not what appeared to be an 8 year old child was a great enough threat to shoot(Thankfully, he wasn't). I still, to this day have nightmares about a small Afghani boy with a rifle. They aren't as bad, but they're there none the less.
As to the blog, it's rough. As a father of 3, two of my wife's I want desperately to adopt and a newborn of my own, I abhor people who do those things. But like subbywan, I think the imagery he used is a bit loaded, and disagree with him when he says that it's not better. To me, she is an innocent called home to a better place. A place where she can be free from the tyranny of parents who have neglected their God given callings. A place where she can be given to parents who were not blessed with children in this life, and can be raised and taught in love, kindness, and charity free from all things negative of this world.
So, while I mourn the events that led her to that place, I am full of joy that she has been called away from it. |
