whack...he gets downright cranky and will snap at almost any perceived slight. The way I handle it is to ask him if his sugar is high or low and when he says "yes" I say why don't WE go do something about that. The WE is an important thing because that way they are doing part of it and realize that they could do it instead of snapping. It also points out poilitely that the issue is not YOU but THEM and their not taking care of their health issues. If you go further, wait until their sugar is back in order to make the conversation reasonable (or closer to reasonable depending on the person!) and not just have them snapping and yelling because their sugars are messed up.
