I walked into a pole a few weeks ago. I had my head lowered slightly, looking at my mobile, and so my forehead just above my left eye took the full force of the impact as I hit the light pole. It hurt a lot. I put ice on it and had virtually no swelling, and had no visible bruising at all, but for over a week it was tender to touch. I was talking at a reasonable pace.
My concentration levels have been a bit down, and I've made some really silly mistakes at work in the few weeks since then. I had thought these were just because I've also had a virus and was sleep deprived, but now I'm wondering if the blow to the head actually has had some ongoing effects! Wikipedia speaks of some level of amnesia, which I haven't had, so I'm probably over-reacting :p |
