PC Game DRM by DesiredUsername 2008-09-15 16:52:32
Why have PC Game makers not embraced the use of a USB dongle to prevent piracy? USB dongles can be tiny and cheap, and if they contain a key portion of the game, then they can't easily be cracked.

It gets rid of all the activation/rootkit issues, since now people can share the software as much as they want. Won't do them any good w/o the dongle.

Or else, keep the activation tied to the dongle and you have a fantastic way to ensure game 'rentals' can be enforced.
