were not espousing doing what the unions did/do in saying you *have* to vote for the candidate the union backs....or else....

I may be incorrect but, I do believe that the discrimination laws already cover being fired for "being gay" through some legal precidence.

One other thing I will leave you with is this:
IMO Your rights as a Gay person also extend into taxes so you should consider that as well. Many many of the things that Gay and Lesbain people face are all intertwined and all to often I see the groups pushing for the big things instead of being patient and getting the small things in place to make the "big thing" ....just another small thing at that point. That philosophy was one of the reasons that a frined of mine stopped being the president of the Waco Gay and Lesbian organization. People got militant and wanted things *now* instead of slowly working towards the goal... Time is on your side in that...being in a hurry will only polarize people more. I happen to think he is right...
