If an organization has a stated purpose of advancing LGBT rights, then they should not endorse a candidate who goes against that.
As individual gay people, we don't have a mission, we just are, and we make our decisions based on whatever we want to.
I'm not saying that no gay person should vote for McCain, I'm saying that no gay organization should endorse him. Those are two different things.
(Although personally, I do find my rights like "protection against being fired for being gay" to be more important than, say, tax issues...) |
