$oppressed_minority calls for home/auto quote. It's in chancy part of town, there's already a theft claim or two, and maybe a water claim or two that has to do more with poor maintenance than s4 happens.
Credit score's awful, driving record has a few "caught without insurance" citations on it. This person is NOT getting the low rates published on junk mail postcards.
You don't really WANT such a customer. But to comply with "no redlining" requirements, you send the quote and do a followup call. I've had these silly bints give me what for because I only followed up ONCE. And despite clearly telling them and marking that the good rates depend on sending in your application X days ahead, and showing that paying monthly via paper bill is "discouraged" with fees... they've called me "racist" and accuse me of trying to gouge them.
Um, no. Doesn't matter what color you are, pay in full or do automatic bank draft, and you get the better rate. Companies charge more for monthly pay because it costs to chase down your sorry a3 for payment.
Financial irresponsibility knows no color. |
