Credit of ALL kinds is getting harder to come by- because the banks are lacking capital. A lot of their assets were fictional and went, or soon will go *poof.* When the banks get burned on credit, they usually get shy on ALL types and tighten standards across the board.

The financial press has made numerous comments on tightening commercial credit- both for new and existing businesses, and I see it bear out among my clients here. Those who would normally take a line of credit to squeak through the off season no longer can secure the funds. Layoffs ensue.
