UF Philosophy Corner - Ontology by MatthewDBA2008-09-15 07:31:56
Seems a language problem more than philosophy. by tallastro2008-09-15 10:07:28
The question, I guess, by MatthewDBA 2008-09-15 10:10:57
is whether the word "outside" actually refers to something. It's ontology, which is the philosophical discussion of what kinds of things exist, and what kind of properties they have that distinguish them from others.

So: Does the outside of the brick exist? Can it change? How do you distinguish the outside of the brick from the rest of the brick?
