http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?11,60937,61756#msg-61756 Did you recently reset the root password? This person ran into the same error and changed some config options. One thing to consider is that the error msg is pretty generic, so try identifying what was changed recently to introduce it. Does the user have proper grants? are you connecting as root? have you been able to connect before, if so what's changed that broke it? hth, and gl
