update on my mobile phone search by chaotic 2008-09-15 05:40:56
from friday. I got into the shop and couldn't find the Sony Ericsson phone on display anywhere in the shop. So I got myself the Nokia 6300.

By now, I'm quite pleased with it. The first problem was getting the back case off so that I could insert the sim card and battery (the springs holding it in place are really strong), but after some use of my (luckily hard) fingernails in the small gap it was open. The mostly metal case feels nice, the phone isn't too lightweight but also not really heavy. I'm sure that the back of the case won't accidentally get off. ;)
I think that I have to find suitable mp3's in my collection for a ringtone and alarm clock tone. If the phone can do it, why shouldn't I? ;)
Getting my contacts off the old phone and onto the new phone was also no problem. I just copied the contacts to the sim card and then copied them from the sim card onto the new phone. Then I had to merge some contacts, but that was a nice way of getting used to the phone.
