Thank you for your letter. You have shown us the error of our ways. From now on, we will not sell you any games. Any and all games that we create will explicitly be rentals. By explicitly declaring these rentals, you can't complain that we're pulling a fast one on you. We will use the information collected from Spore & {other game} to determine the optimum rental period (to maximize profits, of course).

By converting to a true rental operation, we will be able to remove the SecuROM DRM that you don't like so much. In it's place, the games will have time and version limits. If you cancel the rental agreement, or do not upgrade the game executables on time, then the game will cease to function properly. We realize that you may pirate versions of our IP, but that doesn't mean they will operate well. With our new rental cash flow, we will have resources available to ensure pirated copies will be crippled.

Thank you again for your help. We hope you enjoy the new gaming order you have helped create.
