Let's celebrate the day the terrorists won. by veran2008-09-11 08:23:11

    Please don't generalize by Paladin 2008-09-11 10:08:20
Just because we have a lot of people in the US who keep their heads in the sand about anything outside of their immediate personal lives until something horrible and impossible to ignore happens right next to them doesn't mean we have a monopoly on them. They just seem louder here for some reason.

Yes our people have a tendency to forget that there is a world beyond our borders; some of our people also are of the opinion that we rule the world in one way or another. However, I must stress that such people exist in every country.

I understand that our government has made some ridiculous mistakes over the past 8 years which have essentially ruined relations with many countries and given us an even worse reputation for tendencies towards violence and shallow thought than we had previously. Hopefully those with a clue will outnumber those who blindly follow political parties the way they would follow a sports team in upcoming elections and we'll manage to sort some of that out in the coming years.

In the mean time, please, please, please don't just assume that we're all bigots and brain damaged zombies with nationalistically homicidal tendencies. It's not fair to the majority of us who are just decent folks shaking our head at the world and wondering at the depths some people sink to in the name of conflicting ideals.
