You have already bought the music once, on vinyl, when it was first released. Are you then morally obligated to buy it again so you can listen to it on modern media?

I have done this and more than once. I have also re-purchased video media on DVD that I had already bought on VHS (*cough* Star Wars *cough*). And I have some DVDs that are "skipping" due to excessive wear/age/something.
