Triggering unnecessary and stupid auto-save functions
Trigger pop-up ads
Trigger reloading the page after a certain period of time, causing me to lose my place on the page

setTimeout() itself isn't the problem, it's all the annoying things website authors use it for... but if you block setTimeout() you block all the annoying things right along with it.
