The wikipedia article says that Belgium and Italy are the only two EU countries where locked phones are in fact illegal, but in the best of wikipedia traditions, it has no source for that claim.
My own phone is unlocked as far as I know, I don't remember the sales guy asking what network I'd be using it with when I got it, I just plunked in my SIM and I was good to go. |
