whether they'd be better off? If I were dying of an incurable disease, and had only a week to live, I'd definitely want to know. Does someone else have the right to decide that I'm "better off not knowing", and lie to me to spare what they see as heartache? Perhaps I want the heartache, so that I can better prepare to part from the things that are dear to me.
