as in more enjoyable: either they would allow music/entertainment while moving around campus or while waiting. I'm assuming most students would have a standard cell phone along with the iPod (or don't have the money for either), so the lack of phone/messaging on the iPod wouldn't matter much.
as in improved education: iPod >> iPhone, because of the reduced social functionality. OTOH, Pen and Paper >> >> >> better than either electronic device as they can be played with to the point of completely ignoring the lecture, presentation, passing eye candy, bus stop, or whatever. I've seen enough lectures where people were playing $Game on their laptops and didn't look up throughout the entire lecture. |
