UF Philosophy Corner - Ethics by MatthewDBA2008-08-27 07:22:49
It strongly depends on one's sense of ethics. by EnzoMatrix2008-08-27 07:35:16
I want to make sure I understand your meaning. by MatthewDBA 2008-08-27 07:40:48
I see you saying:
  1. In general, one tells a lie in order to improve one's own situation.
  2. Telling the truth is better than lying.
I'm not sure exactly what you have in mind by "better", though. And I suppose it has to do, as you say, with one's sense of ethics - with one's sense of how to live "the good life". But maybe you could go into more detail about how and why telling the truth is "always better"?
