If your terms of employment require nothing more than 2 weeks notice, don't feel like you have to give more. Having said that, if you're going to give yourself a huge headache trying to leave the job within two weeks, and the new job can wait 3, negotiate. I know with my work ethic and my job, I'd need more than two weeks to disentangle myself to the point where I feel comfortable leaving - but I'm dealing with patient care and would be really worried about wrapping everything up properly.... Leaving with only 2 weeks notice would mean two weeks of working 12 hour days....
