Up here (Canada) we have PetroCanada, Shell, Esso, Husky, Mohawk, and then a bunch of smaller stations, and places like 7-11, Hasty Market, and the like. All pretty simple, plain names.
In the US, I can't count the number of weird, unpronouncable names I saw on stations. A few names that made me go 'HUH?' when I saw them...
TA (different colours to make the letters stand out). Sorry, but I kept expecting scantily clad women to come out and work on the car.
Couche-Tard (in Quebec, I think it was). Unfortunately, I saw this name the day after hearing 'tard' used in a show on TV :-)
Kum-N-Go (variety store). Ummmmmmm. My teen thought this one was pretty funny :-) Sigggggggh.
