I think it was due to the following; Main PC OS was XP Pro x64 (got to use all 4 GB of Ram) Sub PC was Windows XP. When transfering files back Main PC was converted to Plain Windows XP Pro (no x64 this time)and only had 3GB available. Sub PC remained the same. But still 12 hrs +?? Next time going to definitely slave the drive instead of going over network! 1 more minor thing Main Pc has a gigabit ethernet controller
