Fiction is not a lie. by tallastro2008-08-26 11:03:32
The last two questions: by MatthewDBA 2008-08-26 11:19:59
Suppose that this particular work was deemed not to be a lie. It then seems that there is at least one "falsehood made with intent to deceive" which is nonetheless not a lie. That apparently implies that "a falsehood made with intent to deceive" is not an adequate definition of a lie. Should the definition be changed, and if so, how should it be changed?

Again, these questions only make sense on the assumption that the work I describe is not considered a lie. If it is, then the questions are irrelevant.
